Map files that can be loaded by all the CartoType demonstration programs (except Palm OS - see below) are available here. For example, a complete street-level map of Boston, Massachusetts. To use one of these maps, copy it on to a device that has the CartoType demonstration program installed and use the Open... command in the File menu to load it.
All the free maps are of parts of the USA. The file names are self-explanatory.
The maps are in the CTM1 (CartoType map data type 1) format. CartoType can load map data in any format, using a system of plug-in data accessors. The demonstration program comes with one data accessor only, for CTM1.
Palm OS users: please use the versions here. The data is the same but has been packaged as Palm OS .pdb files.
