A few screen shots

Boston, Massachusetts, using a street atlas style. The repeating pattern of trees used for Boston Common is just visible. Icons and patterns are specified using the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) language.

The Isle of Wight in southern England in two different styles. Style sheets are written in XML and give full control over every aspect of the map's appearance.

Central London

Part of London, showing a route calculated by CartoType and overlaid on the map. The label 'Start' overlaps the street name; this behaviour is customisable. Any number of label layers may be drawn. Within each label layer no labels overlap. This sample also shows a realistic way of indicating railway lines.
